by Amanda Somrekli

When you have submitted your application for a credit card the card issuer will first examine your credit standing and will simply approve your application when they are convinced that your credit score is high enough to be meriting to be issued the card.

This is commonly the process that every card company will abide by. Even so, for those who are applying for a bad credit card there is still hope too because issuers tend to apply a different set of guide lines for people who want to have a card issued in spite of their bad credit standing.

There can be several ways through which consumers can get debt reduction but the most important thing is that they should stop using credit cards immediately or they should minimize the usage of credit cards. This is necessary because if they keep using credit cards than their total debts keep own growing instead of reducing.

It also helps to try to find the one with the lowest interest rate as possible because if you can’t pay of the bill every month, the interest rates are where you are going to be spending most of your money. Check out our website for more information.

Credit scores are determined by what types of credit you have and how long you’ve had your accounts open. They look at your payment history too. Even if you’ve had a credit card for 15 years or more and have an excellent credit rating, FICO score and credit history and you go ahead and close it, you can do a lot of damage to your credit score, and especially if it’s the card you’ve had the longest and it’s still an open account.

Be careful though when choosing these offers, as some companies are known to charge a huge upfront fee at the start of the contract. Make sure to read the fine print carefully. If something does not make sense, or seems fishy, make sure you get a hold of an employee at the credit card company and figure out exactly for what you are signing up.

When you think of bad credit, you probably think of ways to rebuild your credit so that you can get a great credit card once again. Well, most people tend to think that you may never able to get that great credit score again and instead resort to either cash only lifestyle or look in the wrong places. Today, I’m going to show you how you can find a credit card for your wallet that can improve your credit score in no time.

Don’t forget the small print: When choosing a new credit card, it is vital to read the small print carefully before you sign anything as there are all sorts of hidden dangers lurking in wait for the unwary credit card holder.

When you carry the gas card around, you do not have to worry about carrying money around. You can use the card for your purchase and have the security of knowing your money is safe in the bank or at home. You have all the benefits of using your credit card and seeing where your money goes.

Make sure you identify the devious little traps lying in wait to ambush you in the small print on credit cards and keep in mind what you should particularly look out for.

Your credit score is important. Your credit score can decide if you will or won't get approved for a loan or a credit card. You must know your credit if you want to be able to start building up your credit.

by Kay Riter

Your credit score is important. Your credit score can decide if you will or won’t get approved for a loan or a credit card. You must know your credit if you want to be able to start building up your credit.

If you don’t pay your bills on time, or if you miss payments altogether, you are damaging your credit. If you have no credit, you could be at just as much a disadvantage. Fortunately, you can work to repair and build up your credit.

If you have no credit, you’ll need to get some. Some people mistakenly think they need to get 5 major credit cards and start charging the heck out of them in order to build credit. You actually don’t need one credit card to build credit, there are other ways. First of all, paying off any kind of loan will build credit, and you can get one if you need it and don’t have credit.

If you need a loan but have no credit, look for someone that has good credit and who will take a chance with you. You can ask them to be a cosigner on a loan with you. They will cosign and pay any bills you fail to pay. If you don’t pay, you will be damaging your credit, so don’t think they will just pick up the slack. Your credit and your relationship with that person will be tarnished.

You might not need a loan anytime soon. This gives you more time to take a slightly less aggressive approach. Pay all your bills on time. Over time, paying bills such as rent, utilities, and your cell phone will all help to build up your credit. Anything you finance, such as a computer, will also build credit.

While I don’t recommend financing something you can pay up front, you could finance it and pay it within a month or two. This will build your credit and charge you minimal interest. Also, paying utility bills, rent, and any other monthly bills will add to your credit.

Those with bad credit need to take the same advice. Since you have bad credit, you probably weren’t very good at paying your bills on time. This needs to stop! Paying your bills on time is the only way to keep your credit from going down and to build it back up.

If you can’t pay your bills on time, you need to budget so that you can. If you can’t pay your bills on time it means you are living above your means and you need to start cutting out expenses. Cut up your credit cards and pay them off as soon as possible. Credit cards will not help your situation. Credit cards should only be used as a way to build credit as a last resort.

by Christopher E. Phillips

In the mainstream world of today, credit card debt has become a household bill that many people think of as a normal bill. Most people who are paying credit card debt off need to focus their efforts with more forethought. For instance, obtaining a low interest loan from a commercial bank and paying off a high interest credit card would definitely save money.

A lot of debtors don’t realize that they can obtain lower interest rates from anything other than a home equity loan. Most banks today offer short term loans to persons with good to average credit scores who have current checking or savings accounts with their institution.

Another easily overlooked way for credit card debt reduction is through your company sponsored 401k or savings plan. Money from these accounts can be taken out, pay off the credit card, and then pay the same amount you would have paid the credit card to yourself, in addition to the normal amount you would contribute. This can benefit you in the long run, even though you will have to pay additional taxes in the year you initially “borrowed” the money from your tax deferred plan.

If you contribute the amount you normally did previously, plus the payment amount you were paying to your credit card company, your taxable income will be reduced, and as a result, you may actually bring home more or at least the same amount as you previously did.

Now if you then apply this “extra” toward after tax 401k to reduce your “borrowed” amount as well, you end up paying yourself interest instead of paying it to a credit card company. There are tax laws for every income level regarding this and each situation is different from individual to individual. Your situation should therefore be evaluated to determine the financial impact this solution to credit card debt reduction could make on your individual circumstances.

Perhaps the simplest solution, yet the hardest to do is to sit down and create a budget, that allows for paying off the debt, not just the interest, and then stick to that budget. Each month that you pay extra on the principal cuts down on the length of time it takes you to pay off the entire debt, and by extension will reduce the total amount you repay..

Taking the time to research these methods of credit card debt reduction could mean a big payoff for you and your family.

These are tough economic times we find ourselves in. Everyone knows at least one person with a mortgage problem and who of us hasn’t had to deal with skyrocketing credit card interest and payments? We need to regain control somehow.

But there is a financial tool that can help, prepaid debit cards. And more and more people are turning to them.

Prepaid cards are simply cards that you load before you spend. They’re Visa and MasterCards, but they have no interest, minimum payments, or credit limit. You simply buy them, load them up, and away you go. You don’t need a bank account and you don’t need a credit history to get one either. They’ve become a great option to regular credit cards.

You can use them just like you’d use a conventional credit card because they’re accepted in all the same places. At the same time, even though they work like credit cards, they don’t come with the same baggage.

For instance, credit cards let you spend more than you actually have while prepaid debit cards only allow you to spend what you’ve already loaded. And because they’re pre-loaded, these cards never have an interest rate or a minimum payment. It’s pretty difficult to get into credit trouble with a prepaid card.

You will have to be more prudent with a prepai card though. You won’t be able to buy things just because you can; you’ll have to give all your purchases more forethought. But that kind of planning and discipline will save you money in the long run.

That’s why prepaid card usage is on the upswing. People are turning to them because they offer a better spending model as well as a better way to manage ourselves back to financial health.

Isn’t it time to take better care of your own finances and spending? The answer in today’s world has got to be yes. If you agree, do a little research and see what prepaid debit cards can offer you. You just might be surprised at how useful a tool they are.

Your credit report is an education for you in your financial history. It is the basis of any decision a lender might make regarding giving or refusing credit to you. It is a smart move to arrange to see your credit report.

The three major credit reporting agencies are Experian, Equifax, and TransUnion. The reports from all three agencies are needed because creditors and lenders may not all report to the same agency and the reports may be different. If you go to annualcreditreport.com you can find out the procedure for obtaining your reports. You can get a free report from all yearly.

The reports will have several sections. Know that there will not be personal private information about your race, worth, or salary included. There will be the usual identifying such as name, address, social security number in the first section.

There will be a section related to any credit lines. These credit lines will include loans, mortgages, credit cards, gas and department store cards. It will give the date each credit line was opened, credit limits, payment history (including late payments), balances, overdrawn bank accounts, and unpaid child support.

The court system also provides information to credit reporting agencies. Such reported information will include bankruptcies, divorce, judgments, and liens.

An inquiry from a credit reporting agency will be made each time you apply for any type of credit. These inquiries will be on your credit report and stay on for 2 years. Also, when you make your own inquiry, it will also be on the report.

It is to your benefit if your credit report is positive. However, any negative information will remain on the report for 7 years. A bankruptcy is on your credit report for 10 years.

Request those credit reports from all 3 agencies. Compare the reports, be aware of discrepancies and fix errors. We have a personal responsibility to monitor our own credit profile, fix mistakes and, if needed, repair our credit.

by Daniel Moskel

The Orchard Bank card is issued by HSBC Bank, one of the largest and most reputable banks. This card is designed for those with a damaged credit score.

This card has a unique application process. When you apply they will match your credit score to one of four sub prime credit cards.

This includes a secured card and three unsecured credit cards. If you have made some mistakes in the past with your credit then you are guaranteed to be issued a card that corresponds to your credit score.

If you have many negative items on your credit report you will likely be issued the secured card. With this card you must make a deposit and then your card will have a credit limit equal to the amount of your deposit.

This card will work just like an unsecured card, meaning you will have monthly payments. Your APR will be between 8.9% and 14.9%. This is lower than most bad credit cards that carry an APR of roughly 19%.

If you have made only a few mistakes with your credit you can be approved for an unsecured credit card. However if you still want to be issued the secured card instead you can be.

The unsecured cards will have some fees like a 19$ account set up fee with one of the cards. These cards also carry an APR between 8.9% and 18.9%.

However the fees with the Orchard Bank cards are dramatically less than any other available bad credit cards. In addition they offer considerably lower APR’s too.

All four of these cards do report monthly to the major credit bureaus. By using your card responsibly you can create a positive payment history.

This is an important factor when your score is being calculated. It makes up approximately 30% of your score.

In addition these cards will improve your ratio of available credit to debt. This factor weighs roughly 30% of your credit score. It is how the bureaus judge if you can financially handle another credit line.

You should know that once a bad credit item on your report ages four years it will have much less influence on your score. However we do still encourage you to remove bad credit items from your report.

In sum we do suggest the Orchard Bank cards to those with a low credit score. This card can be a very valuable tool to rebuild your credit.
