These are tough economic times we find ourselves in. Everyone knows at least one person with a mortgage problem and who of us hasn’t had to deal with skyrocketing credit card interest and payments? We need to regain control somehow.

But there is a financial tool that can help, prepaid debit cards. And more and more people are turning to them.

Prepaid cards are simply cards that you load before you spend. They’re Visa and MasterCards, but they have no interest, minimum payments, or credit limit. You simply buy them, load them up, and away you go. You don’t need a bank account and you don’t need a credit history to get one either. They’ve become a great option to regular credit cards.

You can use them just like you’d use a conventional credit card because they’re accepted in all the same places. At the same time, even though they work like credit cards, they don’t come with the same baggage.

For instance, credit cards let you spend more than you actually have while prepaid debit cards only allow you to spend what you’ve already loaded. And because they’re pre-loaded, these cards never have an interest rate or a minimum payment. It’s pretty difficult to get into credit trouble with a prepaid card.

You will have to be more prudent with a prepai card though. You won’t be able to buy things just because you can; you’ll have to give all your purchases more forethought. But that kind of planning and discipline will save you money in the long run.

That’s why prepaid card usage is on the upswing. People are turning to them because they offer a better spending model as well as a better way to manage ourselves back to financial health.

Isn’t it time to take better care of your own finances and spending? The answer in today’s world has got to be yes. If you agree, do a little research and see what prepaid debit cards can offer you. You just might be surprised at how useful a tool they are.

When it comes to restoring credit reports, there can seem to be nothing more important at that present moment. That is because something so simple as a number can hold your entire life back and bring your plans to a screeching halt. There is nothing more embarrassing then being turned down for that new home or car based on a number, which you find to be inaccurate. If you feel that there is something on your credit report that does not belong then it is certainly time to take action.

Generally your basic credit report repair service will be able to assist you but if they cannot, then there are other options available to you. There is such a thing as a credit legal repair service that will also be able to help you if you find that your circumstances require a much bigger answer then that of what the smaller companies can offer you.

When it comes to legal issues, a credit legal repair service company is the place that you would want to use in order to make sure that everything is taken care of correctly and in the right time frame.

Where To Find Them

If you start your search with a basic company and you end up finding that your issues are bigger then what they can handle for you, they may be able to refer you somewhere. That company may have a list of a few credit legal repair services around you that can assist you in your particular situation.

If no one is able to refer you or you just know that you have to start with a credit legal repair service then it is probably going to be up too you to find the right one. If you know of anyone who has used this type of service before then talk with them about their experience. This may help you go in the right direction for finding the right help.

There are also television commercials because there seems to always be an advertisement for a credit legal repair service. Check into what they have to offer and see what all of their services cost. Make sure to shop around so that you are not being taken advantage of but do not go with a credit legal repair service just because they are cheap.

You want to make sure that they are actually going to be able to do the job right all while charging a decent price. You do not want to make the situation worse just because you decided you wanted to save yourself a few dollars.

With the recent downturn in the economy people everywhere are feeling the effects of the current financial crisis. Banks and businesses are closing, people are being laid off from work and the outstanding debts are piling up. It seems as if the whole world is grappling with financial problems. Is there any help for overwhelming debt?

As overwhelming as it may seems, it is possible to get out of debt without taking bankruptcy or other extreme measures. Credit repair experts will tell you that the road to financial recovery starts with a debt reduction plan. And, of course, being committed to the plan is equally important.

To create a plan to get out of debt you must first take an in depth look at your finances. This means you will need to know exactly what you owe and how much interest you are paying on your mortgage, auto loans and credit cards. Start by cataloging all of this information.

Next, list all of the day-to-day living expenses and the financial obligations you incur each month. This means noting all of the monthly payments you owe on credit cards, mortgage (or rent), utilities – every expenditure you incur on a regular basis. Be thorough with this as it is very important. You cannot make a plan for debt reduction without a thorough understanding of your current financial obligations.

After you have accomplished the tasks above you are ready to make an appointment with a licensed credit counseling agency. Enlisting the help of such an agency will help you to follow through with your commitment to get out of debt. The agency will begin by reviewing your list of debts and expenses. It will then make recommendations to you, and it may even work with your creditors to help you reduce both your and your debt.

There is help for overwhelming debt if you make a plan and commit to it. Whatever you do, do not let feelings of helplessness overpower you. Instead, simply take the necessary steps to get out of debt and achieve financial freedom. It can be done.

by John Brennan

Our debt is increasing daily, whether it is the national debt, debt being incurred by businesses or that occurring in our own households. Being in debt at a time the economy is failing only makes things more difficult. Owning an average of 7 to 8 credit cards does not help the situation either. It is just too easy to spend money that is there but not our own.

More and More Americans will need to become familiar with the words debt consolidation. The unfortunate thing is that chasing ideas beyond ones true capacity is all too common. Borrrowing money on a new credit card to pay off older credit cards only throws you in the hole even deeper. Debt consolidation could be the answer and here are some ways to get more educated on the subject.

With debt consolidation, credit card and other debt can be consolidated into a single loan which generally has more attractive interest rates hence a lower monthly payment than the combined payments of all the debt which has been consolidated. Both time and money are saved, not to mention a reduction of stress and anxiety.

Probably the most commonly used debt consolidation tool is the home equity loan. Here you are effectively making the equity in your home work for you. The collateral you have in your home makes it possible to get a secured loan and a secured loan will almost always feature a lower interest rate, sometimes significantly lower, than will a non-secured loan. If you don’t own a home you might wonder if it is still possible to get a debt consolidation loan.

The answer is yes though you may have to work at finding a source. Also a non-secured loan will carry with it a higher rate of interest. Credit card transfers are one possibility but the interest rates, except for the introductory “teaser” rates will generally be higher and can become higher still if you make late payments.

Life insurance and retirement funds are also a way to try. You can ask your credit union to see if they offer loans with lower rates. Finding a good credit union will take some time, but the pay off may be worth it. If you aren’t a member of a union you can see if you are eligible. Most employers have offers to join credit unions.

There are a number of non-profit organizations whose purpose is to help those in debt reduce their debt or consolidate their debt. These organizations do much of the legwork for you, negotiating with creditors to lower fees and interest rates and helping to find avenues to permanently reduce or eliminate debt. These organizations can usually accomplish debt consolidation much more efficiently and effectively than an individual can.

Debt does not have to be a major factor in your life even though it always seems to be with us to some degree. It can be hard to avoid going into debt in our culture but if you have the will and desire, help is available and you can benefit greatly from tools such as debt consolidation.

To dispute Experian you must compose a dispute letter and mail it to them. Upon receipt of your letter they will investigate the disputed item.

by Justin Hutto

To dispute Experian you must compose a dispute letter and mail it to them. Upon receipt of your letter they will investigate the disputed item.

I suggest you first get a copy of your credit report. This can be done by going to annual credit report. They will issue you a free copy of your credit report with each bureau annually.

Once you have received your credit report you need to identify what marks are incorrect. These are going to be the marks that you will dispute.

You can dispute these listings by writing a dispute letter and then mailing it to Experian credit bureau. When they receive your dispute letter they will decide if it is valid or invalid.

If they find your letter invalid you will receive a letter from them asking for more details about the dispute. You should respond accordingly and provide them with the information.

If your dispute is valid then an investigation will be held into the mark. In an investigation the bureaus will contact the business that made the negative mark on your report and ask them to verify the debt, the dates and the balance.

It has been found that investigations will often result in a listing being removed. This is a result of many businesses being unwilling to spend the resources verifying disputed debts.

Your other option to dispute bad credit is to hire a credit repair service. If you do hire a service all you will need to do is identify what items you wish to dispute.

In case an item is verified then a credit repair service can be very helpful because they have advanced dispute techniques. These include; creditor direct intervention, escalated dispute information requests, and debt validation.

If you have multiple bad credit items you wish to dispute then I suggest hiring a service, in addition they will have no problem getting a valid dispute submitted. However if you only have one or two bad credit items to dispute then you can do it yourself.

Be aware that you must send a dispute letter to each credit bureau. If you do not you may remove a negative mark from your Experian credit report however this mark will still be on your Equifax and Transunion credit report.

In sum negative items can be removed from your credit report. You do not have to live with the high cost of low credit.

To dispute a bad credit item on your Equifax credit report you must send a dispute letter. In your letter you must include the disputed item and why it is incorrect.

by Justin Hutto

To dispute a bad credit item on your Equifax credit report you must send a dispute letter. In your letter you must include the disputed item and why it is incorrect.

You can write a dispute letter yourself or you can hire a service to write it on your behalf. You should be aware that a dispute letter must be sent to each credit bureau.

This means if you have a charge off on your Equifax credit report then you will have to send a dispute letter to Equifax. In addition if that charge off is on your Experian and Transunion credit report you will have to send a dispute letter to them also.

Common reasons to dispute a bad credit item include; information is wrong, item is out of date, account paid in full and more. The Fair Credit Reporting Act passed by congress gives you the right to dispute any item on your credit report.

In addition this act says the bureaus must remove a listing from your report if it can not be verified. This act is what the dispute process is based upon.

When the bureaus receive your dispute they will investigate. During this investigation they will contact the creator of the item and request verification of the account, the dates, and the balance.

If this item is not verified by the creator then the bureaus must remove it from your credit report. Often investigations will result in the removal of an item from your report. This is because many businesses are not willing to spend the resources to verify disputed debts.

Before the bureaus will investigate your dispute they must deem it valid. There is no clear definition of what a valid dispute is.

Many claim that the bureaus are just avoiding having to hold an investigation so they will deem your dispute invalid and respond with a letter requesting more information about the dispute. It is widely speculated that this is nothing more than a stall tactic used by the bureaus.

This is because it will only cost the bureaus money to investigate disputes. The bureaus customers are businesses and only because of government law is there a dispute process.

I suggest a credit repair service if you have multiple listings you wish to dispute. However you can repair your credit yourself if you have minor damage, be patient and persistent.

In sum you do not have to wait seven years for a bad credit item to be removed from your credit. You can dispute the listing and have it removed immediately.
